Survey Crew Chief / Land Surveyor

We are seeking a talented and motivated Survey Crew Chief/Land Surveyor to join our team. Position Overview

As a Survey Crew Chief/Land Surveyor, you will take on a variety of field and office tasks, working closely with our Professional Surveyors, clients, and team members. You’ll conduct surveys, prepare survey drawings, and help ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years in land surveying with strong communication skills.
• Certifications: PLS, LSIT or Certified Survey Technician preferred.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble equipment.
• License: Valid driver’s license required.
• Education: Associate’s Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.

Primary Responsibilities

• Independently perform boundary, topographic, and construction surveys for public and private projects.
• Prepare CAD survey drawings and conduct fieldwork.
• Interpret survey maps and construction plans to support project goals.
• Manage vehicle and equipment inventory, loading, and maintenance.
• Communicate with the project team to provide updates and feedback on field activities.
• Supervise the survey crew’s use of equipment, data collection, and field sketches.
• Assist in performance evaluations and support the team’s ongoing development.
• Adaptable to working extended hours as needed for client and project demands.
