The Department of Transportation, Division of Transportation System Development, Southeast Region is seeking a Transportation Specialist Entry or Senior level. This position is headquartered along the Fox River in Downtown Waukesha at 141 NW Barstow Street.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Waukesha State Office Building in Waukesha, WI at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

This Transportation Specialist Entry position performs a variety of duties on transportation improvement projects in both the construction and design phases of projects. This position also will be assisting in land surveying and providing quality control/quality assurance for contracted survey service. This position assists in providing design and construction teams with engineering survey guidance for the development of highway and bridge improvement plans.
This position will assist the Regional Survey Coordinator(s) in determining the acceptability of contracted survey data, provides quality verification of survey data collected by contractors providing survey data to the Department. This position may assist in providing control information in the proper format to expedite field survey operations by consultant survey crews. In addition, this position assists the Regional Survey Coordinator(s) and performs back up duties when necessary and provides incidental survey data when necessary.
The Entry Level position is in schedule-range 14-15 with an annual salary of $53,165-$58,822.
The Senior Level position is in schedule range 14-14 with an annual salary of $63,170-$72,800.
A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
