CORRE is looking for a full-time, highly motivated, qualified, Project Surveyor to work in our transportation department.

Description

A key member of multiple project teams performing both field and office surveying tasks. Most projects are geared towards transportation, specifically surveys for design purposes. Field work is mainly a one-person crew using Trimble equipment. Equipment includes robotic scanning total stations (SX10, SX12), GNSS receivers (R12i, R980), and data collectors (TSC5, TSC7). Office tasks would include field prep, data processing, importing to Civil 3D survey database, deliverables creation, and communicating with team members. There is a lot of collaboration with team members located in different offices so you will be communicating using a mix of email, phone calls, chats, and in-person.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience working with robotic and GPS field survey equipment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy, including use of relevant communication software
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well as a one or two-person survey crew and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license, ability to travel, including overnight, if needed

 

Preferred

  • Professional Land Surveying (PLS) license or ability to obtain in the future
  • Certified Survey Technician (CST) Level 1 or higher
  • Knowledge and expertise with various software packages including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access
  • Experience acquiring and processing terrestrial lidar data and aerial drone photogrammetry
  • Understanding of the WisDOT transportation design process
  • Experience with WisDOT fieldwork and deliverable creation

 

Physical Requirements

  • Walking five (5) miles or more in a day on a construction project site on uneven terrain
  • Excessive standing
  • Lifting, or carrying, a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Pushing and pulling equipment
  • Use of a keyboard.

  • Frequently outdoors, year-round in various weather conditions
  • Travel throughout Wisconsin Southeast region
  • ​Occasional travel with overnight stays
